Ingredients
  

Shortcake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
Filling
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Method
 

  1. Combine strawberries with sugar and let sit for 20 minutes.
  2. Prepare and bake the shortcake until golden, then cool and cube.
  3. Whip cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Layer shortcake, strawberries, and cream into serving cups.

Notes

For best texture, assemble the cups no more than 2 hours before serving.
