Ingredients
  

Candy Apples
  • 6 Granny Smith apples washed and dried
  • 6 wooden candy apple sticks
  • 2 cups strawberry candy melts
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil optional
White Chocolate Layer
  • 2 cups white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
Strawberry Shortcake Crumble
  • 20 vanilla sandwich cookies
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl

  • microwave-safe bowl

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly, then insert wooden sticks and chill for 20 minutes.
  2. Pulse cookies and freeze-dried strawberries into crumbs. Mix with melted butter and set aside.
  3. Melt strawberry candy coating until smooth.
  4. Dip chilled apples into strawberry coating and allow excess to drip off.
  5. Melt white chocolate and drizzle or dip over coated apples.
  6. Immediately cover with strawberry shortcake crumble while coating is still wet.
  7. Allow apples to set completely before serving.

Notes

Freeze-dried strawberries provide the best texture and flavor for the signature shortcake crumble.
