Ingredients
  

Lemonade Base
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
Garnish
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 3 strawberries halved
  • 4 mint leaves optional

Equipment

  • fine mesh strainer

Method
 

  1. Blend the strawberries with 1 cup of water until smooth.
  2. Strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl.
  3. Heat sugar with 1 cup water until dissolved to make simple syrup.
  4. Combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, syrup, and remaining water in a pitcher.
  5. Add ice, garnish, and serve chilled.

Notes

For a sparkling version, replace one cup of water with sparkling water just before serving.
