Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk warm
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon Filling
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Method
 

  1. Warm the milk and combine it with sugar and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix eggs, butter, salt, yeast mixture, and flour to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
  7. Place rolls into a greased baking dish and let rise again until puffy.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 22–28 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over warm rolls.

Notes

For extra soft cinnamon rolls, avoid adding too much flour and do not overbake.
