Ingredients
  

Sauce Base
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp halal Worcestershire-style sauce or soy sauce
Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Warm olive oil, ketchup, and tomato paste in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Add brown sugar, honey, vinegar, and halal Worcestershire-style sauce and whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in all seasonings and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Adjust thickness with water if needed and cool before storing.

Notes

For deeper flavor, refrigerate the sauce overnight before serving.
