Method
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- Season the chicken strips with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the bell peppers for 4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir in parmesan cheese, onion powder, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and add the cooked pasta. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
- Garnish with parsley and parmesan cheese before serving warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, use freshly grated parmesan and reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
