Method
- Whisk together all burger sauce ingredients and refrigerate until needed.
- Divide the halal ground beef into 8 loose balls without compacting the meat.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot.
- Butter and toast the burger buns until golden brown.
- Place beef balls onto the skillet and immediately smash them thin using a metal spatula.
- Season patties with salt, pepper, and garlic powder while cooking.
- Cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until crispy edges form.
- Flip patties, top with cheese, and cook another 1–2 minutes.
- Assemble burgers with sauce, toppings, and double patties on toasted buns.
Notes
Use high heat and avoid overcrowding the skillet for the crispiest smash burger edges.
