  • 2 cups mixed mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 slices artisan bread toasted
Optional Garnish
  • Parmesan cheese grated
  • parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Toast the artisan bread slices until golden and crisp.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender.
  4. Stir in garlic and thyme, cooking until fragrant.
  5. Add heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then spoon over toasted bread.
  7. Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or top with a poached egg.
