- Cut sponge cake into cubes and drizzle lightly with champagne.
- Beat mascarpone, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Whip cream to stiff peaks and fold into mascarpone mixture.
- Layer cake, cream, strawberries and white chocolate in a trifle bowl.
- Repeat layers until bowl is full.
- Garnish and chill at least 4 hours before serving.
