Lemon Iced Tea

A refreshing homemade lemon iced tea made with black tea, fresh lemon juice, and just the right touch of sweetness.

Ingredients
  

Tea Base
  • 6 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Fresh Additions
  • 3 large lemons, juiced
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves optional garnish

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • long spoon
  • pitcher

Method
 

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved.
  4. Add fresh lemon juice and remaining cold water.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  6. Serve over ice with lemon slices and mint.

Notes

For a stronger lemon flavor, add extra lemon slices while chilling the tea.
