Ingredients
  

Strawberry Layer
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
Latte Base
  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant based
  • 1 cup ice cubes
Matcha Layer
  • 1 tsp matcha powder culinary grade
  • 2 tbsp hot water not boiling
  • 1 tsp honey or simple syrup optional

Equipment

  • Blender
  • matcha whisk
  • tall serving glass

Method
 

  1. Blend strawberries, honey or sugar, and water until smooth to create a strawberry puree.
  2. Whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and slightly foamy.
  3. Add strawberry puree to a tall glass, fill with ice, and pour milk over the ice.
  4. Slowly pour the matcha over the milk to create the layered latte.
  5. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and serve immediately.

Notes

Pour the matcha slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain the layered café style look.
