Ingredients
  

Green Bean Base
  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Finishing Touches
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon zest optional
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional

Method
 

  1. Wash and trim the green beans, removing the tough stem ends.
  2. Blanch the beans in boiling salted water for 2–3 minutes until bright green, then transfer to an ice bath and drain.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat until the butter melts.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add green beans and toss to coat in the garlic butter.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. Stir in parsley, lemon zest, and lemon juice if using, then serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, finish the dish with grated parmesan cheese or toasted almonds.
