- Wash and trim the green beans, removing the tough stem ends.
- Blanch the beans in boiling salted water for 2–3 minutes until bright green, then transfer to an ice bath and drain.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat until the butter melts.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add green beans and toss to coat in the garlic butter.
- Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Stir in parsley, lemon zest, and lemon juice if using, then serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, finish the dish with grated parmesan cheese or toasted almonds.
