- Melt butter in saucepan and sauté onions until soft.

- Add roast beef to the au jus and warm gently.
- Toast buttered hoagie rolls under broiler until lightly crisp.
- Fill rolls with warm roast beef and top with cheese.
- Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve with small bowls of au jus for dipping.
