Ingredients
  

Meatloaf
  • 2 lbs ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Glaze
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Equipment

  • baking dish or loaf pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a baking pan.
  2. Mix breadcrumbs and milk in a bowl and let soak for 2 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and gently combine.
  4. Shape into loaf and place in baking pan.
  5. Spread half the glaze over the loaf and bake 45 minutes.
  6. Add remaining glaze and bake 15 more minutes until cooked through.
  7. Rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Do not overmix the meat to keep the meatloaf tender. Let it rest before slicing for best texture.
