Ingredients
  

Main Dough
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts optional
  • 1/4 cup caramel chunks optional

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and heat a cast iron skillet.
  2. Mix melted butter with sugars until smooth, then add egg and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients separately and mix into wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and optional add-ins.
  5. Spread dough into skillet and bake for 20–25 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep the center gooey. Serve with ice cream for best results.
