Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook apples, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla in a saucepan until softened.
- Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened, then cool.
- Fill dough pieces with apple mixture and a caramel candy.
- Seal into balls and brush with melted butter.
- Roll in cinnamon sugar and place on baking sheet.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve warm.
