Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Optional Garnish
  • flaky sea salt

Method
 

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty, then cool slightly.
  2. Mix sugars with brown butter, then beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry ingredients separately, then fold into wet mixture with chocolate chips.
  4. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until golden.

Notes

Chill dough for best texture and flavor. Sprinkle with flaky salt after baking for a gourmet finish.
